Size may not be everything but J’s Den is proof that big can sometimes be beautiful. This large, modern apartment is ideal for families or large groups. With its eight bedrooms, six bathrooms, and 470 square metres of floor space, J’s Den can not only accommodate up to 18 guests, but can accommodate them with ease, comfort, and style. The family ski apartment is located close enough to Hirafu Village to be convenient for the ski slopes and bars and restaurants, but its secluded Izumikyo position next to the forest also means it offers guests privacy and peace and quiet. Built in 2017, the house has a laundry, ski storage, panel heating, and guests even have free use of a 9 seater vehicle between December 9th and April 9th.
J’s Den has eight bedrooms split over its three floors, two on the ground floor, and the remainder on the upper or second floor. Bedroom one is on the ground floor. It has a king size bed and en suite bathroom, as has bedroom five which is also on the ground floor. Bedroom two has a king size bed and an en suite bathroom. Bedroom three has two single beds and a large walk in wardrobe. It has direct access to a bathroom, which it shares with bedroom four, which is a children’s room. This has two single beds. Bedroom six has a king size bed and en suite bathroom. Bedroom seven has two single beds, a large walk in wardrobe and shares a bathroom with bedroom eight which is a children’s room with two single beds.
J’s Den has plenty of space outside as well as in. It has no less than eight terraces, on all sides of the chalet, meaning guests get to enjoy a complete panoramic view of the beautiful Niseko landscapes. Four terraces are on the first floor and are accessed from the living and dining areas, making for an incredibly social and communal house. The other four are accessed from the bedrooms on the second floor, giving guests their own private balcony.
This chalet may be large, but with its wooden flooring and ceilings, and stylishly comfortable soft furnishings it still manages to give off a cosy feel – and you can just imagine it being the backdrop to family photos for years to come. There is a private and secure garage on the ground floor, along with two media rooms and storage space. The first floor has two large living areas, a dining area with table that seats 10 people, and two modern and fully equipped kitchens. There are also two toilets and powder rooms as well as two laundry rooms. The chalet has a phone, free Wi-Fi, smart TV’s with Apple TV, and the kitchens come with rice cookers, microwaves, dishwasher and even a wine fridge.
One of the benefits of staying at J’s Den, is that guests have free use of a bespoke concierge service that helps them with everything from table reservations to finding and arranging babysitters. Airport transfers can be arranged for an additional fee, and guests have the option of pre booking both ski passes and ski lessons, so that everything is waiting for them on their arrival. For extra convenience, between 9th December and 9th April, guests have free use of a nine seater vehicle.
This family ski house is located 1,600 metres from the ski lifts giving access to some of Japan’s best skiing areas. It is 1,300 metres to the centre of Hirafu Village with its large selection of bars and restaurants. There are several bars and eateries closer still, including Izakaya Restaurant, Graubunden and Bistro Re Arbor.
