This lovely estate features two spacious well-appointed bedrooms with attached bathrooms. Its interior simple, yet exude warmth and coziness affording peace and privacy. Each room has a large window, allowing you to look out to the scenic views beyond it. Bedroom one near the Villa entrance, makes a huge family room as it comes with a large king bed and a set of bunk bed. A large wooden door opens to a small terrace area overlooking the undulating plateau and the beautifully manicured garden. Have some tea on the terrace while enjoying a good book and taking in the fresh crisp air. Bedroom two is equally as luxurious with its king sized four poster bed. The ensuite bathrooms are fitted with the highest quality toiletries and vanities for your comfort and convenience.
The picturesque outdoors alludes calm and peace and certainly makes postcard perfect shots. With such outdoor space at your disposal there is a lot you can explore here. The spacious open spaces allows the kids plenty of running, playing and learning experience while you sit back and relax over a good cup of freshly brewed tea. Watch the ladies pluck tea leaves in the early morning, try your hand at it as well. Take a slow stroll in the verdant hills and make some friends. Laze on the lawn all day with a good book. Let loose in the evenings, gather around the firepit, make a bonfire and have fun toasting marshmallows.
Thevast indoor spaces provides great option for utter relaxation and comfort. Indulge in a long lazy lunches or dinners at the very cozy dining room with delightful home cooked Sri Lankan cuisine prepared with the freshest produce by the villa staff Priya and her family, who takes care of you during your stay.
As the night can get a little chilly, get comfortable on the plush bean bags and warm yourself up at the roaring fireplace the entire night if you so wish, while enjoying the company at the living area. The extremely generous living and seating area is also great for entertaining or hosting a small intimate party amongst friends. Otherwise, the huge seating/ lounge area makes a great spot for freshly brewed tea while overlooking the great outdoors through the huge windows. In the evenings or early mornings, seat at the comfy chairs placed along the terrace/patio right out the entrance and catch the misty weather, the sunrise or sunset and indulge in small conversations or some much-needed “me” time.
The ever smiling villa staff, Priya and her family will take care of your every need during your stay at Haldummulla Estate. Babysitting services, airport transfer and driver can be arranged at an additional cost. Housekeeping services are provided daily while security services is 24 hours.
There is so much activities to indulge in and around the area especially for the adventurous soul. Take a walk to 17th century Portuguese Fort in the adjoining forest where there are many archeological remains nearby. A short drive, takes you to the scenic Bambarakanda Falls, Sri Lanka’s tallest waterfall. Take a tour of the neighbouring Organic Tea factory. An hour walk takes you to the picturesque colourful villages of the estate workers perched on the hill while a little more than two hours takes you through the colourful villages and the quaint idyllic Idalgashina railway station atop the mountain. Take a ride on the tuk tuk and visit the market town of Haputale to take in an even more colourful experience.
