The historical quaint town of Galle in Sri Lanka is famous for its remnants of Portuguese and Dutch colonialism architecture. One of such historical piece of architectural style can be witnessed and lived in the beautiful Villa Saldana. The villa has been built with authentic Dutch Colonial Style like towering pillars, high archways, expansive cloisters and soaring ceilings of timber. Even the décor has been arranged to ooze out the same vibes of Dutch Colonial feel in the nooks and corners of the property. This heavenly mansion can house a maximum of four occupants at a time to enjoy the luxuries that can be offered.
The Villa Saldana has an array of two charming bedrooms. The two bedrooms are master suites furnished with massive king sized beds. Both of them give way to their veranda having discreet private seating areas for the occupants to enjoy the series of endless waves of the sea in front. All of the bedrooms have attached bathrooms with them. The hard wood décor in the rooms is maintained as per the Dutch colonial style imbibed with the local Sri Lankan style.
The outdoor areas of the Villa Saldana have been tastefully designed in order to strike a well-defined balance between the modern surroundings and the antique nature of the property. The outdoor area primarily consists of the wide cloistered verandah, the huge grass lawn and the modest swimming pool settled in a corner of the property premises. The verandah has a cozy sitting area overlooking the sea front and is a quintessential spot to enjoy the sunset. The mowed grass lawn is undeniably the best place to sunbathe. Next, the pool lets one soak up after a tiring day enjoying the breathtaking views of the endless ocean in front.
The indoor areas are well defined in the Villa Saldana. The living room is nestled between the two master bedrooms within the villa. The combination of wooden furniture along with plush modern couches echoes the perfect vibes of a majestic ancestral vacation. There is an antique wooden study desk displayed in one of the cozy nooks of the living room. This beautiful piece of furniture is like a time capsule taking us back to the good old days. There is a separate dining area overlooking the large verandah and the ocean faraway. There is a curry kitchen, which is traditional in every aspect accompanied by another kitchen with all the modern amenities available.
The Villa Saldana has a team of three staff members to take care of the villa and its premises. The housekeeping staff is accountable for all the cleaning chores within the villa. The lawn and the pool are well managed by the staff as well. An authentic Sri Lankan breakfast is served every morning to start the day with joy and happiness. On request, a chef will take your taste buds to the journey of a lifetime with his various delicacies, which include traditional Sri Lankan food or any dish from the world cuisine.
Despite the offbeat location of the Villa Saldana, it is actually quite near to all the amenities that are expected during a vacation stay. The famous Habaraduwa Beach flanks the premises of the property. The historic town of Galle along with popular fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site is a short drive away from the location. The beautiful Koggala Lake is quite near to the villa as well. Various restaurants and shopping districts of the town are easily accessible from the property.
