Positioned in the outskirts of Niseko’s Hirafu Village, the impressive Aoyama Lodge makes the most of its quieter setting and locale with an impeccably-appointed and designed chalet . Newly-built and completed in 2019, it can suitably accommodate up to 10 guests (8 adults and 2 children) within its spacious and smart layout that is aesthetically modern with Japanese nuances . It overlooks the spectacular views of Mt Yotei in the distance and is never too far from the ski fields and other Hirafu Village attractions, all of which are merely 5 minutes away. Its 2-storey architectural built-up lends added appeal to this mountain retreat that conjures the perfect solitude, privacy and relaxation for guests, amidst the world-class snow of Niseko .
Aoyama Lodge is made up of 4 identical bedrooms that are equipped with ensuite bathrooms, and sleep 8 adults. For the 2 additional children in tow, the chalet provides a raised tatami room, which can otherwise be used as a Japanese-style dining experience. All rooms feature king-sized beds that can be converted into twin bedding, depending on guests’ preferences. The large windows in the rooms open out to the views of Mt Yotei that guests could wake up to each day.
There are 2 covered carports for guests while guests can take in some of the most supreme spectacles of this mountainous terrain from the comfort of the chalet’s open layout conceptualized for its interiors.
Distinct Birchwood flooring features prominently in its living hall, which is designed as an open and seamless communal space for guests to congregate and bond within. Furnished here are designer sofas and lounge chairs, and this spacious area also extends into the dining hall where a well-equipped sunken kitchen with bar seating is the centrepiece feature for guests to gather around or entertain like a true host at home. Add this on with a dishwasher and French press coffee maker and one will come to enjoy an elevated level of hospitality. The large dining table seats 8 comfortably and makes any sit-down meals a joyful affair. Guests can also relax with the all-day Netflix entertainment connected to the Smart TV and the concurrent option of Apple TV. Central heating is provided as with washing machine and tumble dryer for laundry needs. WiFi broadband access is also enabled throughout.
Housekeeping services are provided for guests. At Aoyama Lodge, guests are also made to feel special with a host of other concierge services available, such as an on-call driver during the winter season between 8am and 6pm should guests need to get to and fro Hirafu Village for some premium shopping and the Grand Hirafu gondola for the ski slopes. Additionally, there is a spa therapist and a babysitter at guests’ request and disposal, with extra charges. While the chalet is on self-catering basis, guests can still opt for the services of a private chef - with advanced reservations - for a full in-house bespoke Japanese dining experience, or even Thai and Western-styled meals. The five-star treatment continues at Aoyama in which it has partnered with Niseko Gourmet to assist guests with their grocery shopping and delivering fresh gourmet meals to their doorstep. A secure heated dry room for storage of skis and other outdoor equipment is also provided.
Aoyama Lodge is located within a five-minute driving distance from the ski lifts in Hirafu, with Niseko Village just round the corner for the most immediate feel of the powdery slopes. Check out the Gentem Snowboard Shop that is accessible in five minutes for some unique works-of-art snowboards that can be purchased for use and kept later as a souvenir. At Hirafu, guests could make their way to the Hirafutei Onsen overlooking the ski fields, or the Makkari Onsen that is further in for some Mt Yotei splendor in the background. Of course, Hirafu Village is renowned not just for its sublime hot spring experiences but also excellent dining, wining and shopping. The chalet is located just 400m away from Niseko’s newest kid on the block, the Tomo Restaurant, and do not miss the famous Lupicia Restaurant that doubles as a bakery and tea shop too.
