Nautilya Residences is a holiday complex located in Pointe aux Canonniers, Grand-Baie. It houses ten units of three-bedroom suites . Each suite boasts a spacious indoor area, a private terrace and an assortment of amenities. The units share common facilities such as the complex’ mesmerising garden that leads to the swimming pool and the gazebo area. There, guests are able to take a dip into the crystal clear waters or just laze around on the sun loungers.
The property sits on the secluded area of the eclectic village. A drive down to the main road will bring you to a long stretch of restaurants, ranging from the fancy establishments to the inexpensive good eats. There are so many beaches around, there’s one for every mood. Don’t feel like swimming, or being in crowded places? You can picnic on Bain Boeuf Beach. Want to swim somewhere less crowded, but with great facilities? La Cuvette Beach is where you should head to. There are also many places to shop around the area.
All three bedrooms of each suite in Nautilya Residences are fitted with air conditioners, giving extra comforts for guests during those hotter days. The spacious double beds are fitted with high-quality linen. The generous wardrobe space in the rooms allows you to fit your luggage, as well as the clothes you’ve packed for the trip. The colour palette is very subtle and easy on the eyes. The Master bedroom has the added luxury of an ensuite and a flat screen TV, while the other two bedrooms share a bathroom with a large shower area.
The private terrace of the residences have views of the shared outdoor area below. On a good day, you can see the ocean at a distance. Even so, the terrace is still a great area to spend quality time with your family or travel group, whether just lounging around or having alfresco meals. Guests staying at any suite of the Nautilya Residence have access to the shared outdoor area of the complex, consisting of a swimming pool, timber decks with sun loungers and gazebo. You can access this area from your building by walking past the stone path through the lush garden, home to many native flora and palm trees. Think of it as a trip through the jungle to find a refreshing oasis.
When you open the suite door, you are already approaching its heart; the Great Room. This room consists of a living area, a dining area and a kitchen. The split layout of the kitchen allows for more freedom in moving around. The fridge and cooktops are located on one side, while the rest of the unit is on the other; oven, microwave, sink, dishwasher and half of the counter space. The dining table (seating six people) is made of natural wood and the chairs are produced from rattan. The living area features a long cushy sofa and a coffee table, facing the flat screen TV. If the day becomes too hot, this is the prime spot to gather.
The renting package at Nautilya Residences includes free housekeeping services. Wifi at the suites can be accessed by guests. They are also entitled to one parking space per suite. Toiletries, towels and pool towels are complimentary. If you require additional amenities, such as daily breakfasts and kid friendly furniture, you can arrange this with the residence managers, at an extra cost.
The closest attarction to the property is Pointe aux Canonniers’ blue lagoon. There are many beaches spead along the northwestern coastline, but the smaller stretch of Mont Choisy Beach is one of the best. Food-wise most of the nearby dining places are concentrated along the B13 road, which is about 600 metres away from Nautilya Residences. For other activities, there are a myriad of shopping centres around, or you can book a private boat fishing trip from one of the charter companies. If you like sports, there’s the Mont Choisy Golf Course, or the Anjalay Stadium in Mapou. A twenty minute car ride away from Nautilya, it hosts big sporting events, namely soccer and cricket matches.
