Overlooking the beautiful and serene Val D’Orcia which has been designated as a Unesco World Heritage site, guests can be assured of complete serenity and privacy from savoring the exquisite outdoors to the well-appointed and modern-style indoors. The owner has incorporated his personal contemporary art collection into the home as well as antiquities to lend a unique flavor and character, and even elevators to access the bedrooms. Outside, get ready to indulge in the infinity pool, linger around the vegetable and flower garden, or chill around the charming patio while dining and conversing.
Villa Monticelli is designed with 6 double bedrooms for 14 guests, each of which is equipped with its own private bathroom. All rooms are fitted with king beds and what makes them even more special is the fact that they are accessible via an elevator which has been built into the home. Those that are located on the upper floor affords guests with breathtaking views of the valley and gardenlower floor enjoy their own private entrances into the home. Guests also have access to broadband Wifi from the comfort of their beds and enjoy satellite television channels within their air-conditioned privacy.
The 17m x 5m infinity pool is a definite charmer for guests to go for dips or swims in its turquoise waters, while the main external patio is equipped with an outdoor grill and pizza oven that allows guests with lots of barbeque fun while dining alfresco under the skies in addition to its spacious indoor dining room. Also a close favorite is the vegetable and flower garden as well as the fruit orchard that makes Villa Monticelli an enviable retreat for guests. From the pool itself, guests have the perfect spot to admire the vantage views of Val D’Orcia, extending from the hills south of Siena to the cone-shaped Monte Amiata that was once a volcano.
The home’s interior is tastefully furnished with contemporary designer furniture that includes custom-made couches and armchairs, as well as a fine collection of art and antiques adorning the walls and various nooks and corners of the property. There are 2 large living areas which are perfect for entertainment, hosting parties or simply relaxing with family members and friends in front of the fireplace. A huge dining room sits 14 within its dining table while guests also have access to a separate space dedicated as an office. A contemporary and fully-equipped kitchen allows for some awesome cookout sessions with facilities including 2 dishwashers, 6 large burners, 2 ovens, a microwave, a large fridge with a separate freezer and icemaker to boot. Also included is a basement that houses a large laundry room area fitted with 2 washing machines and a dryer.
At Villa Monticelli, daily cleaning services are performed in the mornings for about 4 hours, while bed and bath linens are changed once a week. The staff also upkeeps the garden and pool, while guests can also request for the services of a personal cook to whip up tasty authentic Tuscan meals. Guests also get to enjoy Italian pastries with coffee in the mornings, and snacks throughout the day. Large celebrations or reunion events can be hosted in the property with advanced booking. Villa Monticelli is located in an area characterized by gentle, rolling and cultivated hills and fields in the unspoilt Val D’Orcia, which has been included in the list of Unesco World Heritage Sites in 2004 for its natural splendour and cultural beauty. Guests have lots to explore in this ancient heritage, starting with the 3km white road that leads from the town of Sarteano that runs through beech and oak woods and borders the Grottos of St Francis and a small medieval convent dedicated to San Bartolomeo. Overlooking the towns of Chianciano, Chiusi, Cortona and Citta Della Pieve as well as the lakes of Montepulciano, and Trasimeno, guests will also be glad to know that the nearest train station of Chiusi is just 20 minutes away as with Pienza, while Montepulciano can be reached in 30 minutes and Montalcino in about 40 minutes.
