Villa Concordia is a refurbished farmhouse from the eighteenth century located in the southern Tuscan hills of Val D'Orcia, surrounded by wineries, and offers solitude, which features 7 luxurious bedrooms, 6 ½ bathrooms, heated swimming pool, well-equipped kitchen, landscaped garden, ample living rooms, a lovely dining room with fireplace, a large terrace and many more. Nestled amid lush woodlands and panoramic views, this charming home is fully air-conditioned throughout. Beside that, occupants can enjoy fantastic views of the surrounding areas. This lovely home is strategically located, making it easy to visit iconic destinations in central Italy and is ideal for up to 14 adults (perfect for families and gourmands). It is within proximity to several small villages lined with eateries, shops, markets, little churches and monuments.
There is a total of 7 beautifully designed bedrooms (5 on the ground floor and 2 on the first floor). 5 of the bedrooms are ensuites while two others, a shared bathroom. All rooms comes with plush comfortable bed (either King, Queen or Twin configuration) and mosquitoes nettings, for a more comfortable sleep. Bedrooms 1 & 7 have a lovely garden view, ancient oak tiled floorings and a big travertine shower box. Bedroom 2 features external access to the garden via the small living room and two stone sinks on an oak counter while bedroom 3, can be accessed via 2 flights of downward stairs and shares a bathroom with the twin room (great as kids room) in front. Bedroom 4 has a floor to ceiling glass door with garden vistas. Bedroom 5 has no external access but comes with garden views and ancient oak tilled floors whereas bedroom 6 features a pallet stove and Devon copper bathtub with shower head in its bathroom.
Its main attraction is in its sweeping outdoor grounds, which is nestled on a green hill overlooking the Val d'Orcia woodlands and valleys. Take a slow stroll in the beautifully landscaped garden, take in the fresh air and admire the greens or watch the kids play on the vast lawns. You can even have a picnic on the lawn with the family. The heated pool allows the family to take a dip or even do laps. Nearby are ample comfortable sunbeds with large parasols for relaxing. A mobile charcoal BBQ stove makes it easy to enjoy a BBQ session in every nook of the outdoor space. Experience alfresco dining at the lovely pergola with a table for 8 that is within the garden space (right in front of the home).
As you step into the interior spaces, you will be greeted by tastefully designed spaces that embody rustic/classic style with terracotta tiles in the living room. The vast living room with its plush and comfortable sofas makes a great relaxation spot. Spend the evening with your loved ones for a movie night on the LCD sat TV with a DVD and VHS reader, and a selection of titles for children. Enjoy intimate dining amongst friends and families in the cosy dining room with an impressive wooden table for 14 while the roaring fireplace keeps the place warm. There is a further living space on the first floor (great for chit chatting before calling it a day). A large terrace which is accessible from the upper living space, allows you to enjoy the beautiful vistas outside. The well-equipped kitchen designed by a chef, allows meals to be prepared easily.
The villa’s friendly staff will be on hand to assist you throughout your stay. For those with toddlers, there are complimentary high chairs and cots provided as well as parking spaces for up to 6 medium sized cars. All other on demand services such as private chef, childcare, bookings for dining and more, can be arranged with additional costs.
There is plenty to see and do surrounding Villa Concordia. Within proximity are several small villages dotted with restaurants, attractions and artisan shops. Val d'Orcia fuses art, landscape and ecosystem in one geographical location. The closest walking path starts from the property, following the white gravel roads to Castello di Fighine. Pamper yourself at the local thermal baths and spas. The Medieval village of Bagno Vignoni is built on thermal waters, and the town square is a pool fed by volcanically heated water that has its share of day spas that use the water. For fresh produce, there are several weekly markets in the area such as Arezzo & Cortona (every Saturday), Siena (every Wednesday), Montepulciano(every Thursday) and Pienza & Montalcino (every Friday). As for local grocer, head to Fema. Tuscany provides ample luxury shopping spots like Valdichiana Fashion Outlet (one of the best fashion outlets in Tuscany), The Mall Firenze Luxury Outlet (most famous in Tuscany) and Prada (one of the most famous and visited outlet in Tuscany and the whole of Italy).
Cuisine in this region is often hearty and simple, made with local and fresh ingredients such as olive oil, grilled meats and vegetables. Often high end-ingredients such as black truffles and local wines as well as organic legumes are also used. The countryside will come alive with numerous festivals, feasts and celebrations as the annual wine harvest start in October while cold stone olive oil press in November. Cycling is a major attraction for many where one can take a birds-eye view of Tuscany’s vineyards, ancient towns and olive groves.
