As the lush grounds of green lawns teeming with an oasis of fir, pine and oak trees, vines and other shrubs lead to the unveiling of a 5-bedroom property, it is easy to see why guests would fall immediately in love with Villa Magnolia. A historical structure that dates back to the 19th century, the stone-built architecture is one of the key features that embodies the classic Tuscan style - one which has been loyally maintained till today in spite of the various restoration and renovation works that the property underwent over the years. This countryside and rustic residence is immersed amidst the green hills that surround Cortona, an ancient Etruscan town that is also regarded as one of the most beautiful hamlets in Italy today. The interiors feature a charming mash of classic with contemporary where whitewashed walls are consistently the theme throughout. It accommodates 12 guests, and is built over 2 storeys that are interestingly, designed with 2 completely independent accesses from the outside though connected by a single staircase internally.
A total of 5 finest bedrooms for 12 guests can be found in Villa Magnolia. With all-white painted walls and ceiling beams for the rooms, the chosen shade lends a certain spatial quality that makes them not just superior but also cosy. Spread over 2 floors of the villa, guests will find 2 bedrooms on the ground floor and 3 others on the 1st floor, and another double sleeping sofa bed in the living room itself. All rooms are configured with double bedding; one of which can be converted into twin beds and with the exception of this 1 room, all others are designed with their respective ensuite bathrooms and shower or bathtub.
Splendid outdoors within a totally fenced perimeter is what guests can expect of Villa Magnolia’s outdoors. First up is the private swimming pool measuring 12m X 6m and a cute outdoor jacuzzi pool in a tub, all while surrounded by a large, well-manicured garden planted with big trees of fir, pine, oak and also fruit trees. Various other amenities are available including a gazebo for alfresco dining, tables and chairs, outdoor furniture and a barbeque area that makes time spent here in the outdoors truly wonderful.
The interiors are unique for tasteful touches of contemporary design that blend into the original classic Tuscan style architecture, most of which has been kept intact despite restoration and renovations works for the villa over the years. Built over 2 levels, they are connected internally by a staircase while having independent external accesses to go up and down. On the ground floor, guests will find the main living room with a fireplace, which is also mirrored in the dining room that comes with another fireplace and a smaller living lounge. The fully-equipped kitchen comes with amenities like an oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, toaster, boiler and American coffee machine, among others.
Complimentary WiFi Internet is provided for guests inside and outside the villa. Pool towels are also provided and final cleaning service is also performed for guests. Baby beds and high chairs are available upon request, and the villa is pet-friendly which is good news for guests having pets.
The closest point of interest for guests at Villa Magnolia is the township of Portole at just 4km away, and where bars, restaurants such as the recommended Il Gallo Nero and grocery shops can be found here. Slightly further out at just 13km is Cortona town, while the Camucia - Cortona train station is just about 16km away. Guests could also take short drives out to visit other places of interest including Lago Trasimeno and Arezzo between 30km and 40km for a fun outing.
