Trisara has probably ruined future vacations for us, it is hard to imagine any experience that would have been better. We stayed 8 nights in a Ocean View Villa.
Rooms: top notch luxury, service, even the small things like quality/quantity of towels, treats, fruit, lemongrass spa products, bottled water, 110V outlets, and the ultimate in privacy. Bed / pillows are fantastic! Wifi was great and abundant across the resort. Lots of storage space in the room so you can pack away with no clutter. The lighting, décor, tub, shower, cabinetry all are ritz quality design. The amount of window space is a huge plus. If you aren't looking out to your incredible ocean view, the other windows show the lush garden foliage.
Views: Incredible!! There is not a bad view in the resort, but I do believe some are more panoramic than others. The higher the room, the more blue / colors of the ocean. Plan on every late afternoon watching the sunset from your pool.
Food: unbelievably good. Breakfasts the best ever we experienced at a hotel, awesome buffet and entre selections. Plus you can order in your room if desired. Premium juices, fruits, cheeses, pretzel bread!! We love Thai food, so we mostly ate at the deck and after 9 days was still trying new things. In room menu generally same prices and options which is very convenient! Private bbq was a very special experience for our last night.
Service: The staff are so nice and genuine, we were pleasantly surprised by nearly everyone we met in Thailand.
Activities: We had booked two day trips through Phuket sail tours that were fantastic. Based on Trip advisor reviews we booked a cooking class with Pum school in Patong, but on our last day we did one with Trisara that blew the previous one out of the water! Oceanfront, personal, and they allowed us to tailor our cooking choices -next time no need going anywhere else.
Transportation: The arriving experience that Trisara arranges through customs, etc is fantastic. Another reason you are getting more for your $. It is also one of a few resorts in Phuket where the transportation is included to / from the airport in nice premium vehicles. During the stay, the resort is more costly when transportation is arranged through them to go off property. We met a really nice taxi driver that an off-site spa had hired for us, and we used him the whole week. For the same price, we could get a entire day of him driving us around.
Grounds: grounds are beautiful, clearly a designed garden, not just jungle. We enjoyed our morning walks to breakfast.
Beach: very pretty beach at high / medium tide. At low tide, it reveals ~30-40M of a small reef. The beachfront service is outstanding and when we come back I will probably use the paddleboard and other equipment more.
Resort will not feel crowded given there aren't hundreds of rooms, which is how we preferred it
If you are on the edge of deciding whether to spend more to book Trisara, just do it don't hesitate. Find a way to make it work with your budget. Now looking back, I don't think it is possible for competitors to come close in experience - any room, it doesn't matter. There is no way we wont come back again! We were so glad we ventured past the Caribbean and Hawaii.
