Elegant in style and exquisite with its views, Mas Du Duc is a place that will truly appeal as soon as you step through its private gates. Located close to Grasse and just a short drive from the beaches of Cannes and the French Riviera, this 3-bedroom remarkable maison provencale for 8 guests maximum dates back to the 1920s. It is said to be built by a noble duke as a gift for his mistress, and today, it continues to enthrall guests through its sophisticated ambiance, sprawling grounds, finest furnishings and luxurious bathrooms, not forgetting the panoramic views that it affords. Where the sun rises above the southern Alps to the east and sets over the Esterel mountains to the west, guests will be blessed by long sunshines all day that can be savored either from the magnificent terraces or gardens, or under the shade of one of the grand palms, olive or eucalyptus trees - all at your disposal.
The 3 main bedrooms are all located on the first floor of Mas Du Duc. Starting with the Master Bedroom, it measures a space size of 50 sq meters, equipped with a balcony that affords sea and pool views, as well as an ensuite bathroom with a bathtub and separate shower room. The 2nd bedroom measures 40 sq meters while the 3rd is 35 sq meters, both with their own balcony access for equally lovely sea and village views as well as their own ensuite bathrooms. There is an office on the ground floor that can also be converted into a bedroom with 2 single beds and is suitable for guests below 18 years of age.
The outdoor grounds span an expansive 5000 sq metres that consist of a swimming pool measuring 14m X 11m X 6m equipped with a safety alarm, and is heated from June to September. Just above the pool is a pool house accessible via a flight of steps. The gardens that surround the villa are scented by the blooms of citrus trees, as well as rosemary and lavender flowers. Vast terraces make for stunning platforms to look out towards the French Riviera, and on the upper floor similarly, there is a balcony that guests can step out to from one of the sumptuous bedrooms for more stupendous vistas. Dining alfresco is made possible with the outdoor dining and lounge area, while a barbeque facility is on hand to assist any evening barbeque desires.
The open plan living room on the ground floor with doors that open out to the terraces outside is where guests can relax and lounge around with advanced entertainment features like an Apple TV or a Sonos music system. Also amazing is the open-plan smart kitchen diner that is well-equipped with a double oven, induction hobs, double fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster, blender, food processor, mixer, American coffee machine, Nespresso machine and a wine fridge to boot. Besides being able to whip up great family feasts and do even more, guests can also immerse themselves with the views outside thanks to beautiful arched doors here. There is also an office space on this same floor for guests to use.
The team at Mas Du Duc ensures that they go the extra mile for guests with their brand of hospitality and service. Among the services that are catered for guests include maid service or extra cleaning, private chef or catering, grocery shopping and pre-stocking of the fridge except for months of July and August, airport transfers, arrangements of local day trips and tours, as well as babysitting and childcare services.
Guests will be pleased to note that woodland walks are within the doorstep of their villa, while Grasse is reachable in just a few minutes by car. A winding lane down the hill leads to an incredibly picturesque town lined with medieval lanes, charming restaurants, perfume factories and museums, and even an atmospheric weekly market. There is also a bustling market on Friday mornings in Valbonne to look forward to, and nearby Cabris which guests could simply book a table at one of the Michelin-starred restaurants. Also worth exploring are the idyllic hilltop villages including Opio, Mougins and Biot.
