Villa Contanza is nestled in the grassy hills of the northern edge of the Po valley where the land starts to form rolling hills immersed in nature and affording both privacy and independence, this truly elegant traditional Piedmont country house has 9 beautiful bedrooms, furnished alfresco areas, swimming pool, 8.5 bathrooms, 2 spacious living rooms, a cosy dining room, a well-equipped kitchen and external SPA area, ideal to accommodate up to 17 adults. The road leading to the home is a mere 50 metres from the parking spot and can be reached via a flight of stairs. The property is three levels including a mezzanine floor. Its peaceful and surroundings makes it a particular fit for those who enjoy privacy, nature and relaxation.

The 6 main bedrooms are spacious and elegantly designed, with plush comfortable beds, ensuite bathrooms as well as heating and Smart TV. Bedrooms 1 to 5 is housed on the first floor. In addition to the standard items provided in all rooms, occupants of Bedrooms 1, 3 & 4 have access to a private balcony with pool views and bathtub with shower in its bathroom while Bedroom 2 has a balcony with garden views. Bedroom 5 features both garden and pool views and a bathtub in its spacious bathroom. Bedroom 6 comes with a large window over the internal court.
Bedrooms 7-9 are of inferior quality, ideal for staff or children, on the home’s second floor. With exception of room 7 which is a single room (with a comfy single bed), the remaining 2 rooms are double rooms (with a large queen bed) and all three rooms share a bathroom. All occupants get to enjoy the generous bathrooms that have high-quality fixtures, relaxing shower/bath, premium toiletries and vanities.
The property’s extensive outdoor grounds is simply amazing. Set amid a verdant park with centenary trees, it features a furnished porch by the side of the pool (great for relaxation), private pool, a solarium, external SPA with sauna and massage rooms, private riding school with stable, furnished alfresco area (great for those relaxing meals), beautiful pool that is open from May to September (weather permitting) with chairs and umbrellas for all guests.
Guests can take a nice leisurely stroll around the garden surrounded by plenty of trees and plants, spend the day having a cool refreshing dip in the clear waters of the swimming pool that can be accessed without stairs, or just laze around in the evening, while enjoying the stunning views that are far-reaching across the countryside, and as the sun sets, you can watch the sunset glow and the change of breath-taking colours.
The traditional yet very comfortable interiors of this magnificent retreat with its elegant aura and welcoming vibe truly represent the Piedmont country architecture. Designed with high respect to the historical past of the manor has resulted in a country-Victorian style with refurbished wooden boards, terracotta floors, vaulted and frescoed ceilings that speak of the opulent past of this property, and the walls, frescoed with floral themes give a sense of continuum between the interiors and the exteriors. Its spacious interiors features 2 living rooms and a further sitting room (on the 1st floor), a cosy dining area with a big dining table, library and reading room and 2 kitchens - one a professional kitchen for event use and accessible by staff only, and the other a smaller kitchen with microwave oven, oven, gas stove, kettle, fridge and freezer and dishwasher to prepare daily meals.

A car is recommended to truly enjoy the property and its surrounding areas. Within distance are many restaurants and other attractions to experience. The Piedmont region is a culturally and historically rich area, with plenty of museums, contemporary art and architecture, in addition to the many traditional restaurants and shopping areas. The Vercelli province is known all over Italy for its rice production and risottos along with other Piedmontese traditional food dishes and important history of pastries. Wine enthusiasts can go to Gaja (reservation advised) to taste some of Italy’s best wines. Take a two-hour walk from the castle of Moncrivello up to the castle of Masino. For food, in the Vercelli province, head to Christian & Manuel with rice as its star ingredient and Locanda del Bue Rosso, which has a wine cellar with some 400 varieties from around the world. For fresh produce, there is a weekly market every Saturday at Piazza Verdi while to stock up on essentials, iN’s Market is a good choice. Seasoned shoppers will be spoilt for choice with the likes of Via Roma features 18km of branded luxury stores, Loro Piana for cashmere and vicuna textiles, Alba’s white truffle and Serravalle Scrivia designer outlet (one of the biggest designer outlet in Italy with more than 200 stores).
