An enchanting holiday haven that was inspired by the many travels of the owner Alexa Genoyer, Villa Kalua is a part of a 3-villa complex named Blue Karma Resort. This pure luxurious property is nestled in Umalas, Bali. When you enter the villa through the elaborate gates with two guardian statues on either side, you will immediately feel that concept around which these villas have been created - "a home far away from home". The design of the villa is very much close to nature, and the color scheme is of beautiful shades of purple that blends into the natural earthy tones of the rest of the villa. From the comfortable beds, stunning interiors and stunningly landscaped garden to the free form swimming pool, your stay in Villa Kalua will surely be memorable.
The 4 bedrooms in Villa Kalua are designed to have their own separate traditional Javanese Joglo style houses. In the large villa garden that spreads for acres, each bedroom gets a great level of privacy, exclusivity and peace. The Joglo style bedrooms also have a walk-in dressing space which is equipped with soft dressing gowns, slippers and other high-end amenities.
With the glass walls in each side draped with curtains, the guests can enjoy a fully open-air feeling by having drapes open on 3 sides of the room. It is a unique and one of a kind experiences that takes you closer to the nature. The bathroom is a small tropical garden itself, with a plunge pool and rain showers under the sky. From the wooden walls and floors, rustic furniture to the romantically draped white silks - this is as rustic chic as it gets.
The garden in Villa Kalua is a hidden haven in Umalas filled with a heavenly abundance of lush greenery. The garden is beautifully landscaped, without harming the rustic and natural aspects. Apart from the large 20-meter swimming pool that awaits you, there are smaller and more special spaces to hang-out in the garden such as the koi pond with a bridge above it. There is a second more intimate swimming pool next to one of the Joglo houses as well. The large free form swimming pool that is in the middle of the garden is easily accessible from all the bedrooms, and glimmers beautifully at night by the surrounding lights.
The common living space for the guests in Villa Kalua is situated in a separate Joglo. It follows the open structure similar to the other areas of the villa complex, and gives you the vibes of freedom, peace and elegance wherever you look. In one corner of the living space is the dining area, which consists of a rustic glass topped table which can seat up to 8 people. Next to the table is the kitchen which follows the rather retro theme of the villa but is fully equipped with all the modern appliances. The seating area consists of a large U-shaped couch like setting, cushioned and comfortable for many guests to sit together and enjoy the stunning scenery around them. There are no artificial entertainment methods like tv in this villa. The concept is all about getting back to Mother Nature.
The staff of 4 in Villa Kalua works together to fully deliver the dream behind the villa by the founder - which is to make a home far away from home. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and they maintain the properly impeccably well to give the best level of hospitality for the guests.
