Enter <strong>ReforestAction<\/strong> and NGO<strong> Project Yagasu<\/strong>, Villa Finder\u2019s partners in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.villa-finder.com\/en\/book-villa-plant-tree\"><strong>Mangrove Reforestation Project<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8 years and counting, we have worked with our partners to plant mangrove trees in Sumatra, Indonesia. To date, 6,800 trees have been planted and are slowly but surely taking root and reaching deep into the forest soil to help to restore healthy ecosystems. Over the years, our small forest has made an impact in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Providing clean water<\/strong><br>Replanting mangrove trees helps prevent saline water intrusion and keeps underground water sources remain clean and free of seawater. This is especially prevalent for coastal regions.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Protecting local communities<\/strong><br>Deforestation is particularly harmful for islands and coastal areas; with a direct impact on ocean acidification and rising ocean temperatures, we wanted to support fishing communities by trying to reverse some of the effects of deforestation.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Reducing damage caused by natural disasters<\/strong><br>According to a study by ecologist Finn Danielsen, areas with a significant number of mangrove trees were less affected by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.
