2024 Highlights: Our Sustainable Achievements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u201c1 Booking = 1 Tree\u201d Initiative<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Since our very first booking in 2012, we’ve dedicated ourselves to the “1 Booking = 1 Tree” initiative, which means that for every reservation made, a tree gets planted! We\u2019re proud to announce that, as of this year, we\u2019ve planted over 25,000 trees. This initiative is thriving and will continue to grow with each booking!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commitment to Carbon Reduction<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In 2024, we took a major step toward reducing our carbon footprint by signing the Glasgow Declaration. We’ve committed to supporting only carbon offset projects accredited by the Gold Standard and Verra Carbon Standards. This year, we\u2019ve successfully offset 108% of our estimated 2024 emissions. That\u2019s right, we\u2019re not just offsetting\u2014we’re going above and beyond!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Empowering Travelers and Villa Owners<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We believe that knowledge is power. That’s why we’ve been busy producing practical, easy-to-implement articles on sustainable practices. Whether you’re a traveler or a villa owner, these resources are designed to help you make eco-friendly choices as a part of your everyday life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Collaborating for Greater Impact<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our partnerships with various stakeholders have been essential for amplifying our sustainability efforts. From enhancing operations to supporting community initiatives and promoting sustainable short-term rentals, we\u2019re all about teamwork! We also conducted initial assessments to encourage the adoption of sustainability standards throughout the industry.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s Next: Looking Forward to 2025 and Beyond<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The achievements we’ve made in 2024 are just the beginning. Here\u2019s what we have in mind for 2025 to promote even more positive change:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carbon Reduction<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

To cut down on our reliance on grid power, we’re excited to be installing solar panels at our Bali office! This move not only lowers our electricity consumption but also helps us refine our carbon emissions reporting to be activity-based, allowing for more accurate data sharing with you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Growing Sustainability Across Our Network<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In 2025, we aim to partner with even more stakeholders to broaden our sustainability efforts. Our goal? To encourage 150 villas to obtain official sustainability certifications and engage with organizations like 1% for the Planet to create a larger collective impact.<\/p>\n\n\n

We are committed to empowering you to live more sustainably. That\u2019s why we\u2019ll be adding sustainability information to our villa listings and providing a sustainability guidebook for clients in every destination we serve.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Engaging Our Team and Guests<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our mission goes beyond reducing carbon emissions; it\u2019s about fostering a sustainable community. In 2025, we want to boost employee engagement (aiming for a rating of 4.1) and enhance guest satisfaction (targeting a bump to 4.9). Additionally, we\u2019re striving for B Corp recognition<\/a> and better implementation of our sustainability practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Volunteering for a Better World<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Encouraging our staff to engage in volunteer work to support local environmental and social causes is also on our agenda. Together, we\u2019re making a difference locally and globally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
