It’s a charming traditional mountain town<\/strong> located on the northwest coast of the island in the stunning Tramuntana Mountain Range. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A great destination for nature lovers <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

With amazing hiking trails through unspoiled nature, Soller is the best destination for nature lovers. Soller lies in the Golden Valley (Val d’Or) with endless luscious orange groves. The Soller orange is claimed to be the best in the whole wide world. The town itself is historic and very pretty. In fact, it is considered to be one of the most beautiful towns in all of Spain. The town of Soller lies 3 km land inward from Port Soller. The surroundings are breathtaking and unspoilt and there are many things to do in and around Soller. Find inspiration below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1) Take the tram <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The tram that goes from Port Soller to Soller is iconic to this town. It is a very old wooden tram and it is locally known as ‘the orange express’. In the old days, it was used to transport oranges to the port where they would be exported overseas. The ride takes approximately 20 minutes passing orange groves and the back gardens of local residents. Taking the train from Palma to Soller is also highly recommended!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2) See the church of Sant Bartomeu <\/h4>\n\n\n

Sant Bartomeu is located in the heart of Soller at the lively Plaza de la Constituci\u00f3n. This beautiful baroque church was restored and designed by Joan Rubi\u00f3, a student of the famous Antoni Gaudi. The church dates back to the 16th century and Rubi\u00f3 started his work in 1904. It’s a must-see!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3) Go hiking <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

As we mentioned before, Soller is the best destination in Majorca to go hiking with its unspoiled wild nature and spectacular views<\/strong>. The limestone mountains combined with dramatic cliffs and lush valleys of orange groves will blow you away. Did you know you can also go Nordic Walking<\/a>? You can also hike from Port Soller to the old watchtower Torre Picada<\/strong>, passing perfect swimming sports and places to have a picnic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4) Don’t miss out on the beach <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Soller has 2 sandy beaches<\/strong> located at each end of a bay in Port de Soller. These beaches are the only sandy beaches on the west coast. The main ‘town’ beach is very long and it’s perfectly family-friendly <\/strong>with calm, shallow waters. You can also rent a boat<\/strong> and make your way to Cala Deia<\/strong>, a secluded and paradise-like pebbled beach to the blacktop of rugged mountains and high cliffs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5) Watch the sunset at Port de Soller <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Port de Soller has a nice promenade lined with lovely cafes and restaurants<\/strong>. It’s a great place to go watch the sunset and enjoy a delicious seafood dinner with people you love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6) Stroll around in the botanical gardens of Soller<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

If you are a nature lover<\/strong>, don’t miss out on the botanical gardens in Soller<\/a>. In these inspirational gardens, you will see plants and trees native to the Balaeric Islands. The botanical garden is located 600 metres west of the town centre in Soller in the direction of Port Soller. With your entrance ticket, you can also visit the Balearic Museum of Natural Sciences<\/strong> where you will learn more about the local flora and fauna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7) Go diving <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Diving might not be the first thing you think of doing when travelling to Majorca but it should be on your list of things to do if you love exploring underwater worlds. From Port Soller, you can make extraordinary diving trips<\/strong> with incredible rock formations above and underneath the surface <\/strong>creating a paradise for all kinds of marine life. You can explore underwater caves<\/strong> and see amazing creatures such as octopuses, colourful snails and barracuda schools. Visibility can be up to 40-50 metres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9) Sala Picasso & Sala Mir\u00f3<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

These galleries<\/strong> dedicated to two of the best artists in Spain are found at the train station in Soller. You can enter for free. At Sala Picasso, you can see over 50 handmade ceramics that Picasso made between 1948 to 1971. Sala Miro shows playful, bright coloured prints by Miro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10) Visit the picturesque village of Deia<\/strong> <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

High up in the mountains, you will find the picturesque village of Deia<\/strong>. Much loved among writers and artists, you can visit the house where writer Robert Graves used to live<\/strong>. These days it is a museum full of personal items. Deia is one of the highest populated zones in Tramuntana<\/strong>, featuring awe-inspiring views of the sea and mountains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
