This traditional farmhouse infused with plenty of old-world charm is the first impression that greets guests as soon as they step foot onto Le Mas Lavande. Located in an idyllic village in Maussane-les-Alpilles, this 4-bedroom villa that fits a maximum occupancy of 10 guests has been immaculately and thoughtfully-restored. The warm and homey interiors embrace and envelop guests thanks to the timeless Provencal decor and personality that have come to define the space and property. The lavender-teemed gardens frame the pretty outdoors with spots of greenery that offer not just a sense of respite but enhance the overall theme of classic farm view. A unique highlight is a first-floor apartment that features its own iron-wrought staircase from the garden.
There are 4 delightful bedrooms adorned with their own furnishings and character to sleep up to 10 guests. All are ensuite bedrooms in which the master bedroom is particularly spacious as it overlooks the gardens and is built with a desk and living area. Adjoining one of the main bedrooms is a lovely kitchen-diner and living room housed under the first-floor apartment which provides some form of privacy and independence should guests wish to make use of it.
Outside is where guests will get to fully immerse in scents of summer lavender on the courtyard garden that is also designed with a magnificent private pool and charming terrace space. The private heated pool measures 10.5m X 5m that is open from May through October and the courtyard can fit up to 3 vehicles. An alfresco dining area is also fitted with a charcoal BBQ and a gurgling fountain that sums up the perfect way to spend your summer days.
While the ambiance is essentially and traditionally Provencal, guests can expect a host of modern amenities including WiFi connectivity and air-conditioning throughout. One of the most impressive features is the well-equipped chef’s kitchen that is a dream come true for homecooks with its hand-crafted Provencal buffets and cookware brands like Le Creuset, Lagostina and Staub at your disposal. The open-plan dining room is where guests can indulge in a feast before retiring and relaxing on the sofas by the open fire living space. The reading room with a fireplace makes for an intimate corner while there is also a laundry room fitted with a dryer, washer and double-door fridge-freezer for use.
Guests can be assured of receiving excellent treatment and hospitality services throughout their stay. The team at Le Mas Lavande will help ensure that guests’ needs and more are taken care of, such as maid service, babysitting, private cook for hire and catering, meal delivery, airport pick-up or drop-off and arrangements of local tours. Also available are fridge stocking and grocery shopping as well as car hire and transfers upon advanced booking.
Situated in the village of Maussane-les-Alpilles meant that guests could easily get to pick up croissants or breads at the wonderful deli that are just minutes away by foot, green grocers, butchers and fishmongers (which also double as an oyster wine bar!) to pick up a great selection of local produce for home cooking. For dining out, there are a number of excellent restaurants, charming bistros, pizzerias and Michelin-starred establishments. Guests will also have the opportunity of sampling olive oil at local press given that this is the heart of one of France’s finest olive oil producing regions.
