Looking for the perfect home while holidaying in Tuscany? Well look no further than Villa Poggio, a delightful country-styled home. Those into food, art and wine will certainly enjoy their stay here. Plus, the panoramic views across the Chiana Valley - Cortona, Montecchio Castle and more will awe you. The villa complex is made up of 3 separate units - the main building which is double storey and a cottage next to it spread across a 2-hectare garden surrounded by meadows and olive trees. Boasting 9 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms, large terrace, modern kitchen, large swimming pool, ample parking spaces, garden and a cottage, this villa is the ideal choice for those travelling in large groups as it has the capacity to house up to 18 persons at one time. They even produce their own special “Chianina”meat, organic wine and olive oil, which is not to be missed when staying here. Do note that the property is quite a distance from most shops hence, a car is essential to get around. Simply the perfect choice for an idyllic vacation!
All bedrooms in this home are en-suite. The bedrooms are wonderfully designed and luxuriously furnished alluding warm and comfort, encouraging a good night’s sleep. The main building houses 8 bedrooms spread across two floors. On the ground is two double bedrooms and a twin room, of which one of them offers easy access and a large bathroom, perfect for the elderly or those with limited mobility.
The first floor houses a further 5 bedrooms - 3 twin bedrooms and 2 double bedroom suites. The suite rooms, which also provide direct access to a large balcony, offer double bedrooms, a living room,double sofa beds, bathroom and shower.
Meanwhile, all en-suite bathrooms are fitted with high quality fixtures such as bathtub, relaxing rain shower, toiletries and vanities for guests’ convenience and comfort.
Head outdoors to enjoy the extensive grounds. Take morning walks in the vast 2-hectare garden surrounded by meadows and olive trees, taking in the crisp morning air. Children can also play safely and freely in the outdoor space - whether by the pool, in the garden or in the natural forest of ash, oaks and old cypresses. The calming pool sitting in the middle of the grounds, is great for quick dips anytime of the day. If you rather laze and get a little sunshine, the comfortable sun-loungers lined next to the pool is certainly a great option. Reconnect with lovely food and wine alfresco style at the open terrace while enjoying the stunning views.
A small cottage, located next to the main building is perfect for couples wanting privacy. The cottage contained a double room with a large snuggly bed perfect for lazing all day, with movies from the satellite tv. For guests’ convenience, a bathroom, shower room, kitchen and porch also comes with the cottage.
Moving on to the inside of the home, which is absolutely charming with its large pleasant lounge, spacious kitchen and cozy dining area. The spacious lounge has ample ultra plush sofas, satellite tv and fireplace allows quiet relaxation comfortably, with stunning views to boot. The long beautifully crafted and set up dining table is great for dining with the entire party travelling together, while the impressive kitchen is fully-equipped with dishwasher, oven, washing machine, double sink, island table and all the necessary utensils ready for any meals preparation.

They can arrange for additional on-demand services such as extra cleaning, childcare services, private chef, tour arrangements, airport transfers, pre-stock fridge and many. All these services come with extra costs. Ample private parking (good for 8-10 vehicles or more) is provided onsite.
In addition, the affable owner, Paola can help arrange cooking, embroidery, painting lessons and even gourmet meals ons-site.
Villa Poggio is located in Lucignano, an old medieval village at the entrance of Val di Chiana near Tuscany and Umbria, cities of art and culture. Lucignano is an area of historical importance. The old town exudes the charm of an ancient village that has preserved traditional agricultural and craft practices, offering visitors an exciting array of products that you can take home like high-quality extra virgin olive oil and honey wine with Chiana meat. The region is also well-known for its furniture, ceramics and jewelry. Explore the village’s many historical site amongst them amongst them being the Town Hall with a museum full of precious objects, the Church of S.Franceso filled with frescoes by Bartolo di Fredi and the unique museums at the Collegiate Church and the Church of the Society of Mercy. Meanwhile, it is only 20 km away from Cortona, 25km from Arezzo, 45 km from Siena, 80 km from Florence, 60km from Perugia and Orvieto , and 75km from Asisi, for those looking to travel to other regions/cities.
