In the city of Chiang Mai, a historical landmark in Thailand, you will find remnants of ancient Lanna architecture, Buddhist temples and stirrings of the past. Lanna Hill House in Chiang Mai’s Mae-On valley is the culmination of colonial architecture infused with Lanna-style aesthetics. This teakwood home is central to the modern interpretation on Lanna architecture owing to natural living, cool interiors with high ceilings and a unique identity. With four bedrooms offering views along the lush valley floor and mountainous landscape, Lanna Hill House extends a one of a kind experience to its guests.
Lanna Hill House extends four, fully-furnished and air-conditioned bedrooms to guests – three with king-sized beds and one with singles and a cot. You can always request for additional single beds as well. Perfect for a vacation with friends and family, these luxurious accommodations come with ensuites in three rooms. There is another sanctum called ‘crow’s nest’ at the very top of the estate. This can be turned into a fifth bedroom during the winter months.
Designed by top architects in Thailand, Lanna Hill House pays close attention to outdoor experiences. You have a 10-metre saltwater swimming pool sourced from a natural spring with a kiddie pool or Jacuzzi. Outdoor lounge spaces are plenty with shaded salas, terraces and courtyards furnished with comfortable seating. The luscious gardens spread across 2 acres of land are landscaped with flowering plants, tree groves and native flora. The courtyard is your go-to spot for evening tea or coffee while enjoying the temperate weather in the valley.
A testament to the traditional architecture of the Lanna Kingdom, Lanna Hill House offers a unique contemporary take on the use of teakwood. You have teakwood floors and furniture in the main living area and accommodation. The colonial-style interiors are luxurious, opulent and breathtaking. Leather couches stand under a double-height ceiling, locally-woven carpets, floor lamps, indoor plants and handpicked artwork decorate the space. A stately staircase leads upstairs to the bedrooms. A games room is designed with table tennis, high-speed internet, and children’s toys.
Lanna Hill House has a guest kitchen with modern amenities and state of the art appliances for your daily needs. Otherwise, guests have the luxury to choose from a pre-decided extensive menu curated by top chefs exclusively for the villa. A continental breakfast is served complimentary to your stay. Lunch or dinner can be mouth-watering as you get to sample local flavours like panang moo, miang kum, Thai curries and seasonal fruits.
There is no shortage of services and world-class amenities at Lanna Hill House as it is not just a holiday home because it is inspired by both colonial and Lanna styles. You have a map/library room where you can read all day long. The staff are happy to assist you during your stay and will help to keep the house in perfect condition. You can request them to arrange tours, shopping trips and car rentals to get the best Chiang Mai experience with local knowledge and expertise.
Chiang Mai still remains a fairly unexplored part of northern Thailand as it away from the beach life that is offered by islands like Samui or Phuket. You have numerous Buddhist temples in the area, ancient architecture still visible in the streets and a mountainous landscape. Some fun activities include the Gibbon zipline, golfing at Chiang Mai Highlands, and Thai cooking classes.
