This fantastic one-bedroom luxury villa is perfectly positioned so guests get to enjoy both the beautiful ocean views as well as the stunning sunsets that Karuna is so renowned for. Located in El Nido, on the paradise island of Palawan amid tropical forest and gardens, this really is the place you have been dreaming of. Studio 1 has 60 square metres (645 square feet) of floor space, along with a 30 square metre terrace. Gorgeously designed, built and decorated in a traditional, ethnic manner the villa also boasts many modern home comforts such as a 40 inch smart TV, Wi-Fi and fully fitted kitchen. The villa has a king-size bed with the option of adding an extra single bed.
Studio 1 has a beautiful and large bedroom featuring a king-size bed. Guests also can request an additional single bed (110cm wide) for an extra cost. The room is decorated with stunning traditional artefacts and pictures, and the hardwood flooring and Javanese stone finishes really does imbue the villa with an air of finesse. The high ceilings (3.2 metres) and use of light make the room feel very spacious and airy. Studio 1 is fully air conditioned meaning sleep is no problem, no matter how hot it is outside.
Guests are provided with bathrobes and slippers for their stay, and for their peace of mind, the ocean villa has a safe box and fire extinguisher. Unlimited complimentary spring water is also available. Studio 1 has two showers and a separate large and luxurious stone bath tub. A hairdryer is provided, as is complimentary tea and coffee.
The villa boasts a 30 square metre (430 square foot) terrace, whose location means it enjoys equal measures of sun and shade. That makes it is ideal for sunbathing on the sun loungers with an umbrella, or dining at the table and chairs. With beautiful views over the bay and the surrounding lush greenery, it would be hard to think of a better setting for a meal, no matter what time of day. A hammock is also provided for the ultimate in relaxation. The terrace is the only part of the villa that is not non-smoking. Guests of the villa get free use of the 16 metre by 5 metre swimming poolon the complex, and there is also car parking for all guests.
The lounge/living area is an open plan space alongside the bedroom and shares its hardwood flooring and java stone decoration. There is a 40 inch smart TV with access to satellite and cable channels, a telephone and free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. A very stylish acacia desk and chair set off the room nicely. The huge floor to ceiling sliding glass doors not only allow the light and gorgeous views into the bedroom and living area but when opened they practically transform the villa into an open terrace. Studio 1 has a well-equipped kitchen, with a large fridge and coffee and tea maker.
A daily housekeeping service operates for the villa, and guests also have free on-site transport from the resort out to the main road. The front desk of the resort is operated and manned 24 hours a day. There are a number of additional services that are available for an extra charge. These include airport transfers, boat tours and motorbike rental.
Palawan is renowned for its stunning white-sand beaches and incredible karsts that rise up dramatically from the crystal clear water. With the myriad of marine life and coral formations, it is not hard to see why it is a favourite with divers and snorkellers, and the Pa-Lao-Yu Dive Resort next to Studio 1 organises trips. There are a large number of bars and restaurants in close proximity, such as Sasson's shawarma and the very aptly named Amazing Sunset Bar.
