This gorgeous rental property in Tuscany is a former farmhouse that has been brought back after careful restoration. The villa owners have focused on guest comforts while maintaining all traditional architectural elements of the region. The result is a charming property that always pleases everyone. Villa Colonica sits in a premium location. It is conveniently located between Siena, Porto Ercole, and Rome, all with multiple attractions. The Tuscan islands of Elba, Capraia, and Giannutri are all close. You will find many nearby bays, beaches, and coves where you can spend a day and come back for the serenity and peaceful ambiance of your villa. You can also visit historical attractions and wineries. Of course, like so many others, you can simply relax and enjoy the laid-back ambiance of this former farmhouse.
There are two houses – the main building, which has 6 bedrooms, and the annex, where you will find the seventh bedroom. 14 guests can sleep in 7 bedrooms. Four bedrooms have large double beds, while the other three have twin beds. Bedroom 1, which is ensuite, has a bathtub. Bedroom 2 has twin beds but there is ample space to add a third bed if needed. Bedroom 3 has two walls with wide windows that allow natural light to flood the room. Bedroom 4 has wooden flooring. Bedroom 7 on the annex is the largest. It is also the only bedroom on the ground floor, which means you gain direct entry to the garden. It also has a small kitchenette.
The villa is spread over a huge area of 1200 square meters. You will see rolling hills and lush greenery in every direction. The private swimming pool sits right in front of the main house. Your kids can splash around in its shallow end while you can relax on a poolside lounger or sip your drink. The villa owner has thoughtfully placed 14 sun beds around the pool, one for each guest. There is also a pool patio with a hammam sauna, a dining table for your alfresco meals, and a changing room with a shower. On request, you can go to the nearby 15-hole golf course. It is just 3 kilometers away. There is also a tennis court only 500 meters from the property. It has grass courts.
Inside, Villa Colonica blends traditional style with modern-day furnishings and amenities very well to welcome families and large gatherings. You will find the traditional terracotta floors of Tuscany, beamed ceilings, wooden flooring, arched windows, gorgeous chandeliers, and fireplaces all providing a welcoming ambiance. Air conditioning, heating, and internet are available throughout. The dining area can seat all 14 guests. The house also has a studio room and a library with a good collection of books. The kitchen features 9 gas burners, an ice machine, electric ovens, and a microwave. Separately, the annex also has a kitchenette. For your entertainment, there is a billiards table and ping pong.
You will have complete access to the entire villa for the duration of your stay, which means, you can use everything you find. You can ask for caddy cars to drive you to the golf course. There is grass-court tennis nearby. You can hire tennis balls. Rackets are available at the villa. Pool maintenance and gardeners will keep the property clean.
La Fiumara, Il Calafelice, La Tana dei Brilli and Enoteca San Guido are all good restaurants close to this luxury villa. Le Mortelle Antinori and Conti di Bonifacio are both very good wineries. The kids will love to do horse riding at Maremma. Also, visit the scenic Capalbio region and see the old walls and the historic Square Belvedere.
