These days, it is rare to find a historical home to stay in St Barts. For guests craving a bit of history and a more personal connection to the island, there is the newly completed Swedish House right in the heart of Gustavia, the island’s trendy capital city. The two-bedroom apartment is one of the few remaining historical buildings in town, also know as La Maison Suedoise. This exclusive luxury rental property is part of the Lacour family estate, which has a collection of uniquely designed suites and apartment in a tropical garden setting around the city. Interesting, the property is in the same building as the owner’s office (just downstairs), access to the home is via a separate entrancegiving you the privacy. Its excellent location put its within easy reach of the many Guestavia’s boutiques, restaurants and nightlife, with the popular Shell beach just round the corner.
The sleeping areas is composed of 2 wonderfully designed bedrooms good to sleep 4 persons. Both rooms lies on either side of the living room and each has its own spacious ensuite bathrooms and large built-in wardrobes. First Bedroom features a very comfortable large European king size bed while the second bedroom has plush twin beds which can be converted into King. Both bedrooms also have modern entertainment systems (apple TV and Netflix) and like the rest of the apartment, air-conditioning. Its ensuite bathrooms comes with high end fixtures, finest toiletries, refreshing rain shower and vanities.
Outside is a beautifully pruned courtyard garden with swaying coconut palms, fruits and flowering trees. Enjoy a drink or two at the huge private balcony, one of the few left from the bygone era overlooking the town and harbour.
The large interior spaces comprised the lovely living room, kitchen and dining space. In terms of design, in keeping with building’s historical heritage, embraces a French colonial style with modern conveniences with its decors incorporating selected unique furniture pieces (both antique and contemporary) and Slim Aaron’s photography. There is parque floors all round and a set of of 19th-century theatre crystal chandeliers adorning the living room. Thelovely living room, the heart of the apartment has a comfortable sitting area with a bespoke library, a Sonos sound system, colonial-styled desk and over-sized couch making it an ideal spot for relaxing. Enjoy delicious meals at the cosy dining area with a dining table for 4. A custom Devol Kitchen that is fully equipped with Gaggenau appliances allows you to cook up a storm. There is a reverse-osmosis water system for drinking as well as an on-demand refillable wine refrigerator as well.
Our friendly and professional staff will take care of all your needs throughout your stay. Complimentary services you will receive include welcome gifts and daily cleaning from Monday to Saturday. Our resourceful concierge are ready to create all sorts of wonderful memories, everything from private wine tasting to windsurfing lessons. These services are subjected to separate charges.
