Ensconced wonderfully inside a 14-century tower is a villa that is anything but dated or aged. Here is a residence that will certainly astound guests, named Casa Livia, which is set within bucolic gardens at the edge of the picturesque town of Cetona. It is truly a remarkable showcase of southern Tuscany with a prized location that affords breathtaking vistas of Monte Cetona, Citta delle Pieve and the wonderful Tuscan countryside. Spread over 4 storeys, Casa Livia consists of 3 bedrooms that can be found on each of the upper floors and accommodates 6 guests maximum. It has been carefully restored and refurbished to reflect a bright, well-appointed and lively interior space thanks to the vivid and generous use of colours from its soft furnishings to the paint. Matching the beautiful indoors is the panoramic outdoors in nature’s glory whether in the garden’s covered seating, the vine-draped dining area, pergola or just the irresistible pool itself.
The 3 bedrooms at Casa Livia are pleasant and charming with simple furnishings in pastel colours and windows that look out to the gorgeous countryside scenes. They are made up of a bedroom with 2 single beds, and 2 others being fitted with double beds each, with their own ensuite bathrooms to boot. Besides side desks and framed paintings and photos, there is also a single chair couch placed by the foot end of all the beds.
A tiled outdoor terrace furnished with outdoor furniture like a mix of chairs with a table is a most relaxing spot for guests to hang around and chill out. Comfy and colourful cushion pillows and sofas fill up some of the benches here that make it an Insta-worthy spot for guests. There is also an alfresco dining spot for guests to dine under the skylight with a wooden dining table and chairs overlooking the greenery beyond. There is also a private swimming pool that runs the length of the green lawn for guests to have their daily laps or dips in, accompanied by sundeck chairs on one side of the pool.
The indoors are made up of a beautiful and bohemian-chic living room that features natural fabrics, retro patterns, earthy shades and hippie-inspired aesthetics for its cushion covers, sofas and mats, juxtaposed against white ceiling beams and a fully-stocked bookshelf for guests to make the most of this space. The adjoining dining area consists of a wooden dining table with chairs, while the fully-equipped kitchen is a cosy, stylish and sleek all-white space with its cabinets, drawers and modern appliances.
The team offers housekeeping service once a week. There is also WiFi Internet connectivity and other entertainment avenues for guests including satellite television and music player. For air-conditioning, guests may request from the team while pets are also allowed but with an additional onboarding cost of EUR50 per pet being charged.
From the villa, guests could amble on the narrow cobbled lanes in the town of Cetona, to do sightseeing, window shopping, enjoying cuppas or simply idling in any of the cafe terraces in the bustling central piazza. Situated at the foot of the medieval village of Cetona, the villa itself is in the exceptionally beautiful part of Tuscany, and takes about 15km to reach Citta delle Pieve, and about an equal distance of 30km to arrive at Montepulciano and Lake Trasimeno. As for Cetona itself, it is an excellent base to explore southern Tuscany and further afield. Among the must-see site attractions are the Museo Civico per la Prehistoria del Monte Cetona, the nearby Parco Archeologico Naturalistico del Monte Cetona and the Val d’Orcia as one of the natural wonders that can be found in this area.
