Located near the charming village of Mensano is a marvellous farmhouse named Casale la Fonte that embodies how Tuscan countryside living is good for the soul. With its advantageous hillside setting, guests are privy to one-of-a-kind views of the estate that can be viewed through its expansive windows, or through any of the outdoor spots that beckon. Surrounded everywhere by nature and greenery, this 3-bedroom farmhouse for 6 guests makes a private and most rejuvenating retreat. Its outstanding stone-built exterior is just a preview into what makes Casale la Fonte truly magical with its exquisitely-furnished spaces, including the very inviting kitchen and superb central area for gatherings and laughter. Casale la Fonte is one of the luxurious farmhouses under the Casali di Casole brand of estate here in Siena.
Housing 3 master suites, they are each fitted with 3 king-sized beds for guests to sleep like distinguished noblemen. One of the suites comes with a four-poster bed against the backdrop of an exposed stone wall while enhanced by some of the finest furniture opposite it and on the side. Bathrooms are equally luxurious with a mixed touch of modernity and classic, as well as the feature of bathtubs, including a freestanding one for guests to simply luxuriate within the confines of this resplendent private space.
The outdoor views that surround Casale la Fonte are mostly nature with the rolling countryside. Guests get to savour this and more when they swim or dip in the heated glass-tiled infinity pool or the hot tub when temperatures drop. There is a alfresco seating space with outdoor furniture arranged in a circle, while guests can also have fun with the outdoor forno or wood burning oven to make their own pizzas in a voila!
The interiors of the Casale la Fonte are marvellous and grand with its exposed stone walls that create an ancient-year-like ambiance elevated to the current times and setting. In the central living hall itself, the finest furniture and finishings come to define the voluminous space while further accentuated by the richness of chandeliers, carpeting, traditional wooden ceiling beams and not forgetting, the 2 traditional Tuscan fireplaces that radiate warmth and cosiness. The inviting and fully-equipped kitchen, the dining hall with its solid wood table, and another living hall upstairs make this retreat truly remarkable for total rejuvenation.
As part of their stay, guests will receive a complimentary welcome kit of basic groceries and amenities and the use of free Internet connectivity. The housekeeping team will perform light housekeeping services daily, and guests can also reach out to a dedicated bilingual concierge team for enquiries. They also have access to Belmond Castello di Casole facilities depending on availability.
The number of sightseeing places and outdoor activities is impressive here around the area of Mensano village, which this farmhouse is located near too. For a start, guests could do some outdoor biking around Mensano, Radicondoli, Casole d’Elsa and the walled fortress of Monteriggioni, where meadows and tree-lined roads beckon for some romantic rides. Just down the road from Casali is where guests could opt for the more extreme road riding at a biking center. While the legendary towers of San Gimignano rise in the distance, guests could also take a day drive out to idyllic Siena which is merely 50 minutes away, or to popular Volterra at approximately 45 minutes.
