Set in a panoramic position on the hills between Lucca and the Camaiore Coast, the 4-bedroom Villa La Macchietta is enveloped by exotic surroundings made up of olive groves, vineyards and chestnut woods. The villa has been lovingly restored by the owners who paid great attention in retaining the original structure and ensuring the use of local materials. With its mostly yellow-painted walls for the exterior and interior, it is welcoming, cosy and homey, which is further accentuated by the appointment of tasteful furnishings and classic furniture, wooden ceiling beams and touches of contemporary for different nooks and corners. Among the charming features are a book room on the ground floor, a large kitchen and dining hall on the lower ground floor, and the rectangular swimming pool that overlooks the entire valley and beyond.
The 4 bedrooms at Villa La Macchietta are bright, relaxing and dreamy, and which sleeps up to 7 guests. They are spread out over 2 of the 3 main storeys of the property, namely on the ground and first floor. The first double bedroom that is designed with an ensuite bathroom occupies the ground floor, while upstairs, guests will find another double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a single room - all of which share 2 bathrooms with bathtub and shower. All rooms are fitted with charming open windows that let in lots of breeze and sunlight, with mostly wooden side furniture that make up the space.
The outdoors are magical and exquisite with lots of green and overgrown vines draping over the walls, and everywhere else simply surrounded by trees. A very comfortable outdoor lounge area with outdoor furniture just in front of the house lets guests chill and spend great time together, while adjoining this outdoor terrace is the alfresco dining area and a barbeque spot for guests to cook and dine under the skies. Positioned strategically on the green lawn is the much-anticipated swimming pool, measuring 12m X 4m on the edge of the property’s perimeter overlooking the valley and its horizons.
The indoors are a labour of love by the owners who have restored the property with great attention to details, retaining the original structure while optimising the use of local materials. On the ground floor is where guests will find the living hall incorporated with a library, while the property’s unique distribution provides for the large, open plan and fully-equipped kitchen area fitted with a pizza oven, a dining space as well as the sitting hall that comes with an awesome open fireplace to keep warm and fuzzy.
The staff at Villa La Macchietta performs 6 hours of compulsory cleaning services per week. Other amenities provided are baby beds for the young and WiFi Internet service, but guests can feel free to reach out to the team should they need anything else.
Villa La Macchietta is located approximately 3km from San Martino In Freddana town, while the distance to shops and restaurants will take only between 4km and 6km. Guests will also find that the villa is a good base for relaxation amidst the surroundings of the Tuscan countryside and easy exploration of other places in the region.
