The first floor of Chalet Alex houses the six bedrooms that are furnished with twin and double beds. The fluffiest, lightest bedding promises a good night’s rest, so you can wake up feeling refreshed. Each bedroom has a private balcony through double glass doors. You get a glorious view, ample sunlight and a quiet corner outside just for you. The two master bedrooms even feature spectacular views of the Matterhorn. There are ensuite bathrooms with bathtubs, towel warmers, and other modern amenities.
Overlooking a stunning landscape, which is covered in snow during winter and verdant greenery in spring, the wide and furnished balconies at Chalet Alex make for a great vantage point. There are comfortable outdoor chairs and tables on the balcony to give you a sweet and simple place for tea, breakfast or evening drinks. A gorgeous indoor swimming pool on the ground floor, shared with guests of Chalet Shalimar, is also accessible for a relaxing swim or a workout.
The top floor of Chalet Alex is occupied by the wide, well-furnished and brightly-lit living area that is accessible by the lift. Featuring exposed wooden beams on the vaulted ceiling and wooden flooring with a roaring fireplace, the living room is warm, cosy and comfortable. The lounge is where you have plush sofas, perfect after a long, hard day of skiing. Monochrome art and photography graces the wall and with warm lighting after sunset, the ambiance is simply magical. You can drink, play games and enjoy a wonderful evening with your friends and family.
The balcony is accessible via glass doors and also offers sumptuous views of the mountains. As the living room is an open-plan space, the dining area and kitchen also form part of the same room. There is an entertainment room with cosy couches and an Apple TV and Wi-Fi. Dining is a luxurious affair, with the finest crystal and chain laid out for a delectable feast. The modern kitchen is fully-equipped with state-of-the-art technology, so you can prepare any number of courses for a delicious meal.
Situated in the heart of quaint Winkelmatten, Chalet Alex is only a short walk to Klein Matterhorn to take you to the ski slopes. If you wish to explore restaurants, bars and cafés, the village centre is a 15-minute walk or even close by taxi. For those who are good at skiing, you can even ski back to the chalet, if the snow permits.
