Casa Heliconia was our last stop out of a 7 day trip in Sri Lanka. A boutique hotel nestled in a jungle, quiet and peaceful. We were greeted by friendly staff and were surprised that they had upgraded us to the bigger room Temple Angkor. Nice room, quirky furniture, although a little dark. The awkward part was the shower, which is located outside the room a few steps further from your private terrace... It was raining and quite humid so running off under the rain to have a shower, not so great. The concept is interesting ( you use a coconut shell to get the water out of a big basin) but not so practical when it is raining, no dry space to hang your clothes, I would suggest the Management provides bathrobes at least, this would make the experience far more agreeable. We tried out the ayurvedic masseuse but it wasn't great. The highlight of our stay was the food... the best we had in Sri Lanka. Since we were the only guests in the hotel, the chef cooked us what we wanted to eat, lots of creativity, super tasty food. JUST AMAZING. I would definitely recommend this little B&B for 2 days, for a couple.
