Why stay in Cannes

There’s more to Cannes than its glamorous image suggests: beyond the lavish hotels and luxury yachts, the city offers picturesque beaches, museums, and cultural events and attractions.

Villas in Cannes

An incredible holiday experience begins at your villa in Cannes. Step past the doors to your vacation rental, and you’ll be greeted by the sight of well-appointed living spaces, sun-dappled terraces and a landscaped garden complete with a private pool.
You won’t have to lift a finger throughout your stay—just leave it all to your Cannes villa concierge. They will assist with transportation, bookings, restaurant reservations, creating customised travel experiences and more.

Family activities in Cannes

Marché Forville, a large covered food market is a great place for breakfast, or if you want to stock up on ingredients for a beach picnic or self-catering at your Cannes villa. There’s a vast variety of stalls selling fresh produce, fish and local delicacies daily—except for Mondays, where the entire venue functions as an all-day flea market.
Wander through the winding, cobblestone streets of Le Suquet, the old quarter of Cannes. Take in the beautiful mediaeval architecture of the town, and explore the many cafes, bars and boutiques lining the streets.
Visit Eglise Notre-Dame de l’Espérance, a Gothic-style church that dates back to the 15th century. The church’s hilltop location means that you’ll need to hike up to the venue, so we recommend donning a pair of comfortable shoes and bringing along a bottle of water (it can get hot during the summer). Once you’ve arrived at the top of the hill, you’ll be rewarded with sweeping views over the town and out to the bay.
In July, the Suquet Music Nights festival takes place within the grounds of the church. Lovers of classical music won’t want to miss out on the event—it features a variety of performances by pianists, soloists and orchestras.
Musée de la Castre, located just a stone’s throw away from the church, is a museum set within a mediaeval chateau. Art and history buffs will enjoy perusing the museum’s collection of paintings, artworks and archaeological artefacts. Nearby, the Saint Anne Chapel features an impressive collection of musical instruments from various regions across the world, including Asia, Africa, America and Oceania.
An e-bike tour is a great way to take in the sights and sounds of Cannes. E-bike tour provider Yourent offers a two-and-a-half hour guided tour, which includes stops at key attractions in the city. There are group and private tours available, and the tour caters to children aged 12 and above.
Or round up the little ones for a day trip to the Antibes Land Park, a seasonal park with thrill rides, themed attractions and carnival games. It’s located in the coastal city of Antibes, about 30 minutes’ drive from your Cannes villa.
If you’re in the mood for a lazy weekend brunch, bring the family to La Plage du Martinez. The beach club offers a family brunch on weekends, and the kid’s brunch includes access to the hotel’s kids’ club facilities.

Activities and points of interest in Cannes

Swaying palm trees, golden sand and the sparkling sea—that sums up the allure of the city’s scenic coastlines. The Midi Beaches, as well as the municipal beaches of Plage Macé and Plage Zamenhoff are popular with families. The beaches are also easily accessible, and are located 10 to 15 minutes’ drive from your Cannes villa.
Or lounge in style at one of the many stylish beach clubs in Cannes. We like Carlton Beach Club for its elegant setting and iconic central pontoon, and Vegaluna for its relaxed vibes.
Art lovers will enjoy a visit to Musée Bonnard, once home to the artist Pierre Bonnard. The museum features a collection of Bonnard paintings, temporary exhibitions and regular events, including drawing and painting workshops.
Your Cannes villa vacation won’t be complete without a stroll along La Croisette, the city’s famous promenade. It is home to Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, a convention centre that hosts the Cannes Film Festival. You’ll also find upscale restaurants, boutiques and hotels lining the boulevard.

Cannes’ restaurants, cafes & bars

Some of the city’s most iconic dining venues include La Palme d’Or and Villa Archange—both of which are double Michelin-starred restaurants. La Toque d'Or, a venue that has won several accolades since its establishment, offers fine dining in a relaxed setting.
EricKa dishes up mouthwatering homemade fare made with fresh, quality ingredients. It’s a fairly small venue that seats only eight to 10 diners, so making a reservation is recommended (your Cannes villa concierge can help with this). You can feast on French and Italian dishes at Tredici, or head to Bistro Brun for its friendly service and great ambience.
Cannes is one of those places that come alive when the sun goes down, and the city’s varied nightlife scene offers something for every Cannes villa traveller.
Party the night away at Le Speakeasy Piano Club Cannes, PALM Club Cannes or Le Baoli. For jazz lovers, there’s Cotton Club Cannes, a venue located within the Auberge Provençale da Bouttau restaurant, and Martinez Bar. Or unwind with a post-dinner tipple at venues like Le Bar A Vin, La Belle Epoque and Le Roof.
