stayed at Chalet Zenrinso with a group of friends from March 2023 to March 2023

I'm a snowboarder🏂 who visits Hakuba at least five times each season, but I usually stay in accommodations around ¥5,000. This was my first time staying in a luxury villa that's a cut above the rest.🏠 Of course, the space is luxurious and beautiful, but what surprised me most was that it wasn't cold at all! The large, wall-to-wall windows are picture windows offering a beautiful view of the snowy scenery! But with so many openings, won't it be cold? 🤔 The living room with its high void feels incredibly open! But won't it be cold with such high ceilings? 🤔 I had no worries about that at all. The fixtures and fittings are airtight and well-insulated, and the underfloor heating keeps me cozy. In fact, it's almost hot! lol It was so comfortable I couldn't believe it was winter in Hakuba. Luxury villas are truly built on a different level...🤗 It's common for vacation rentals to only have one shower or bath, which means you have to wait in line, but here, each bedroom has its own shower or bath, so there's no need to worry about that at all. That said, if you come all the way to Hakuba, you'll definitely want to go to a hot spring! ♨ The kitchen is fully equipped, there's a washer/dryer, and the bedding is definitely top-notch. There was nothing I wish I had. This is definitely more comfortable than my own home... 😇 For people who ski a lot like me, staying at a budget inn and going to Echoland for dinner is the standard, but I thought a luxurious stay like this would be nice every once in a while. If you avoid peak season and stay with a maximum of 14 people, the cost per person is more reasonable, and since restaurants are hard to find with 14 people, why not just cook your own meals together in the villa? It seems like it would open up new possibilities for enjoyment. I'd like to incorporate this into my future stays in Hakuba with some ingenuity. 😉 By the way, if you follow Google Maps' directions, you'll be directed to the side of the Happo slopes, but be aware that you can't access it from the Happo side. You enter from the Wadano Forest side. There is an alley to the right of Hakuba Grand Apartments, so go down that alley and go around the north of Hakuba Grand Apartments to arrive. We recommend setting your navigation system to Hakuba Grand Apartments. Also, the private road in Wadano Forest is inaccessible to snowplows, so it gets bumpy when it snows, but if you drive slowly you'll be fine.

stayed at Chalet Zenrinso with a group of friends from February 2023 to February 2023

This was my first time staying here, and it was truly a very comfortable villa! It's conveniently located just 5 minutes from Happo-One Ski Resort!! I highly recommend it for going snowboarding. It was wonderful how the space combined sophistication with a homey atmosphere. The tableware and decorations, each with an Asian design, were carefully selected, and I enjoyed every day! I'll definitely stay again.

stayed at Chalet Zenrinso with a group of friends from January 2023 to January 2023

It was fantastic. The first thing that surprised me as I walked through the front door was the high ceilings and sophisticated décor, even higher than in photos. My expectations grew, wondering, "Could this be even better than I imagined?" I was even more surprised when I walked up the stairs and saw the living room. It was spacious. Simply spacious. Not only was the floor spacious, but the sky was also spacious and high. It wasn't just spacious, but a warm, comfortable, and luxurious space. I spent most of my time in the living room during our several nights. The layout also allowed me to continue communicating with my traveling companions while cooking, which was great. The room had everything I wanted in a villa, without any excess or deficiency. The bedding was of high quality, and the sheets felt great against my skin. Thanks to this, I fell asleep earlier and slept longer than usual. The view outside was an unexpected bonus. Often, with other villas and luxury hotels, you can see neighboring villas and facilities outside your window, which can make the experience feel less surreal. However, with this villa, while you can see the neighboring buildings from the bedroom, all you can see outside the living room window is nature. I was absentmindedly watching the birds gathering in a nearby tree. Elements like this are important when immersing yourself in an extraordinary environment, and I felt truly refreshed.

Chalet Zenrinso has six bedrooms arranged with real-world group travel in mind, with spaces that feel uncluttered, restful, and genuinely private. Several rooms feature twin-bed configurations, which makes it simple to balance couples and friends without awkward compromises.

The standout for families is the dedicated bunk bedroom, laid out like a neat sleeping cabin with built-in bunks on both sides. It’s perfect for kids, teens, or a group that wants a fun, practical setup after long days out in the snow.

Bathrooms lean modern and crisp, with stone finishes, clean-lined showers, and a deep soaking tub in at least one bathroom for an end-of-day reset. Storage is generous and integrated, so suitcases and ski layers stay out of the way.

The outdoors at Chalet Zenrinso is all about the setting, quiet trees, mountain air, and a home that feels comfortably tucked back from the road. Large windows pull the landscape in, so even indoors, you still get that Happo-One winter atmosphere.

A covered wooden deck runs alongside the living areas, giving the group an easy place to step out for a breath of cold air between meals or after a soak. It’s the kind of space that works naturally, no fuss, just room to pause and take in the surroundings.

Practical touches matter here too, including a sheltered entry feel that helps with coming and going in snow. For a ski holiday, that simple ease of movement makes a big difference day to day.

Inside Chalet Zenrinso, the main living area is the reason groups book, and the reason they relax quickly once they arrive. A double-height lounge with oversized sofas and a statement fireplace creates a natural gathering point without feeling formal.

The open-plan dining and kitchen zone is built for shared routines: big breakfasts, easy dinners, and everyone lingering at the island while plans get made. Finishes are sleek and minimal, with soft, warm lighting that feels especially good on dark winter afternoons.

There’s also a cosy second seating nook with a large TV, ideal when the group splits into movie time and conversation. The layout flows well across levels, so it’s simple to be together, while still having places to step away and recharge.
