Greenery inspires the mood, is good for our health, improves eyesight, and helps us relax. Studies have even found that looking at greenery for just 20 minutes a day enhances creativity and makes us feel more inspired. Kumbura Villa is a green paradise. It is a haven of peace and tranquility where 8 guests can relax, rejuvenate, and find a respite away from their busy city lives. It is such a pleasure to wake up every day morning to the call of the many birds that nest in the surrounding trees. It is so relaxing to go to bed in the night with complete silence all around.
This luxury holiday villa is close to the southernmost edge of Sri Lanka. It is very close to Koggala Lake and Lagoon, which has scenic islands, a sea turtle hatchery, and a tea estate. Villa Kumbura gets its name from the paddy fields that surround this property. In the local Sinhala language, Kumbura means rice paddy fields, which surround this property along with the rich forests. And inside the house, you will have every modern amenity you want on your holiday.
Kumbura is a wonderful 4-bedroom villa for rent for 8 guests. All of them have different bed configurations for guests with different needs. For example, two bedrooms have king beds, one has a queen bed that is slightly smaller, and the fourth has twins, which is good for two young children. But they are all equally impressive and have a similar décor otherwise. The main house has three bedrooms. One bedroom is in a separate pavilion within the garden. It is set slightly apart and offers more privacy.
The beds have high-quality linen, which will help you fall asleep quickly. There are mosquito nets as well. Wide doors open to the lawn and garden, so you are just steps away from the greenery. The four bedrooms are also air-conditioned for your sleeping comfort.
What will impress you the most about Kumbura Villa is its traditional tiled façade and long verandah. Even the approach to this rental property through a village track that meanders through rice paddy fields, tall trees, and ponds is very impressive. You will be looking forward to reaching the house. On entering this private estate, you are likely to see the swimming pool, after the façade, of course. It is a wonderful infinity pool, hanging at the edge of the forest. You will see many trees, rice fields, and coconut palms everywhere. The poolside has a lawn and several loungers.
There is also a shaded verandah running through the sides of the villa. It has separate sitting and dining areas for you to see the views, relax, and enjoy an outdoor lunch.
On entering the house, you will reach a spacious hall. This is your living room, where you will find sofas providing seating for all. The room also has a desk and a designer chandelier hanging from the ceiling. The covered verandah runs through the outside with a second seating area. Throughout the house, you will find beautifully designed handmade furniture.
The dining area is in an open pavilion that provides views in all directions. The entire family can have their meals here. The kitchen has an oven, microwave, coffee maker, pots, pans, tableware, and glassware.
Kumbura Villa is a spoiling home away from home, with luxuriously large beds, reassuringly lovely linen, and a shortage of nothing. You can cook yourself in the kitchen or seek professional help. The chef is excellent and can cook an expansive range of cuisine and is very happy to also offer cooking lessons. Kumbura Villa has a fire extinguisher, an iron, and an ironing board. It also has a barbecue.
The location is fantastic for nature lovers and guests looking for a relaxing and peaceful holiday. Visit Koggala and the tea estates. 90 percent of the world’s best-quality cinnamons are from Sri Lanka. Glide through the lake to visit Cinnamon Island to find out more. The wonderful Galle Fort, which is UNESCO-listed, is also close.
