The Lavender House is a luxurious five bedroom property located on the hillside of Pussellawa. It is situated amongst a working tea plantation. Its expansive green areas provide seclusion between the holiday house and the plantations, making it an ideal place to have a nice stroll or a morning jog in.
The holiday house, a renovated 19th century property, features spacious bedrooms and ensuites, an open yet cosy living area, and a few unique additions such as a bar area, a wine cellar and a billiard room. This makes the Lavender House perfect for entertaining additional guests. Located a few steps down is the pool terrace, featuring a large swimming pool and sun loungers with umbrellas. The pool area overlooks the gorgeous mountains nearby.
The property is on the halfway point between the tourist attractions of Kandy and Nuwara Eliya, reachable by just over an hour’s car ride. Closer to the villa, you can explore the tea plantations that are part of the estate. Alternatively, you can visit Kotmale Reservoir.
The Lavender house has five spacious bedrooms, each one is named after a flower. The bedrooms are furnished with queen beds, a small couch and table set, chandeliers and a vanity. Most of the wooden furniture are antiques from previous decades. Neutral colour palette, combined with the wooden texture of the antiques create a warmth specific to English country houses. Meanwhile the ensuite that comes with each bedroom is styled with modern aesthetics. All bedrooms are fitted with air conditioners and have direct access to the terrace.
The Lavender house boasts a ginormous green area, consisting of well-manicured lawns and superbly-maintained gardens. You can go for a pleasant stroll with your travel group or do some jogging in the morning, while the air is still crisp. A short walk from the villa will bring you to the main outdoor area, featuring a heated swimming pool. Its turquoise water is very inviting during hot summer days or during colder ones. Sun loungers and umbrellas are placed nearby, allowing you to relax in the sun, even if you don’t want to jump into the pool. The pool terrace treats guests to a panoramic view of the nearby tea plantations and the mountains.
The villa’s living room is a large, open area with two full sets of large and comfortable couches and coffee table. A flat screen TV with sound systems and international satellite channels allows guests to have movie marathon sessions. The dining space is just as large, able to fit everyone in for meals together. Two additional rooms specific to The Lavender House are its bar and billiard rooms. The bar room features a dedicated serving area and some couches and chairs, perfect for the adults to hold parties in. The villa also has a cellar room to store the wines. The billiard room is exactly that; a space built entirely of polished wood, featuring a pool table. It can be used in conjunction with the bar area for an adult’s game night.
Guests will be looked after by a team of dedicated housekeepers. In addition to safety boxes in each room and CCTV cameras around the property, security guards will also patrol the villa area for extra safety. Free continental breakfasts are provided for the guest every morning of their stay. Wifi is free to be used in the villa and guests are given access to free parking by the villa.
Situated in a strategic location in Pussellawa, The Lavender House provides its guests with ease of travel to Kandy and Nuwara Eliya, which are tourist destinations. Both cities are reachable by car. If you want to go somewhere a little bit closer, you can explore the tea plantations that The Lavender House resides on. It is still active and you can watch the workers pluck tea leaves using a specific technique. There is also a restaurant in the estate. Kotmale Reservoir is also not too far away from the villa.
