Villa Aubons is a dream come true for history lovers due to its traditional architecture, vintage style and use of antique furniture pieces. You’ll feel as though you’ve stepped back in time with beautiful shuttered windows, ceiling beams, reclaimed tiles and hardwood carpentry. This three bedroom villa is comfortable and welcoming with high-quality mattresses, plush sofas and warm colour palette. Despite the vintage style, modern convenience is represented in the fully-equipped kitchen which provides all of the modern appliances that you need, including a stove, oven, dishwasher, washing machine and coffee maker. But most of the time you’ll be drawn outside by the stunning views and warm Mallorcan sun. The garden is a Balearic dream with a glistening pool, fruit trees and shaded veranda.
The three bedrooms at Villa Aubons strongly evoke a feeling of old-world luxury. With hardwood four-poster beds, high-quality mattresses and linens and elegant decorations you’ll sleep every night in a room fit for royalty. Of the three bedrooms, one has a double bed and two are twin rooms with two single beds. The master bedroom has gorgeous exposed stone walls and timber double doors which open out onto the garden. There is also an antique style baby cot in the master bedrooms so the newest addition to the family will have somewhere just as plush and luxurious to sleep. The twin rooms are spacious enough that you’ll never feel cramped, and offer ample storage and sitting space for two people.
Situated in among peaceful fields and olive groves, the first thing that you’ll notice as you step out into your private garden is the wonderful countryside views. You can admire the rolling fields and distant mountains from shaded patio as you sip a morning coffee around the small outdoor breakfast table. In the glorious glow of the morning you might like to read on a poolside lounge while you work on your tan. Choose whether you’d like to sit in the shadow or full sun by positioning the umbrella shade. Cool off from the afternoon heat by taking a dip in the swimming pool as the kids place on the large lawn. As the evening draws in, gather around the al fresco dining table for a BBQ and watch the sunset over the peaks.
The indoor areas at Villa Aubons are antique, stylish and imaginative. Brilliantly utilising original architectural features such as explored stone walls, ceiling beams and fireplaces, this feels like a well-healed farmhouse frozen in time. The common space is an open plan living and dining room which has glass doors onto the patio through which one can admire beautiful views of the valley. The living area features three comfortable sofas and a TV under a unique hanging lamp. The whole room is beautifully decorated with vintage prints of the island and salvaged tiles. The kitchen is fully-equipped, bringing modern convenience to an otherwise timeless property. You’ll have a stove, oven, fridge-freezer, coffeemaker and more, so you’ll be able to prepare any dish that you fancy, from home comforts to traditional local dishes. You can eat around the formal dining table in the main room, or if you have friends over at the longer kitchen table which has space to seat ten guests.

Villa Aubons is located on the outskirts of the sleepy village of Crestatx, which is a quiet neighbourhood with many holiday villas and guesthouses. The charming town of Sa Pobla is just 10 minutes away by car, where you’ll find shops, restaurants and bars. Sa Pobla is sure to delight history buffs, as it was thought to date back to the Roman conquest of Mallorca in 123 BC. There are nearby archaeological sites and history museums where you can learn about the ancient history of the island. Sa Pobla is also known as the ‘Potato Capital’ of Mallorca, and if you visit in early June you might get to witness the famous Sa Pobla potatoes festival where you can try tasty potato dishes and enjoy live music until late into the night.
