Affording guests with 360 degree of near unobstructed views, Villa La Castagnara is a delightful farmhouse for 8 guests within its nest as it finds a sweet spot up in the hills between Lucca and Camaiore. Exclusivity and tranquility are what it promises guests, as with the many modern comforts that this villa has been equipped with. Built with stone walls for the exterior that hark back to the olden days of rustic Tuscan countryside, the villa doesn’t disappoint either in its indoors with 4 rooms and fitted with charming countryside furnishings and floral furniture that evoke a homey feel. In parts of it are some contemporary designs and fittings that do not seem out of place in the entire space. It also features a fenced swimming pool that is perfect for young kids, and whether guests wish to chill outside or inside, there is little doubt that Villa La Castagnara possesses the welcoming warmth.
The 4 bedrooms of this villa sleeps 8 guests maximum, and are to be found on all of its 3 floors. On the ground floor is where the 1st double bedroom is located and equipped with a private bathroom with a bathtub. Proceed upstairs to the 1st floor and another double bedroom with bathroom (shower) awaits. Finally up onto the 2nd floor is where the last 2 bedrooms are located, namely a double bedroom that is connected to a twin bedroom that both share a common bathroom. All rooms lean towards the classic style and design, with some walls that bear wallpaper and others that bear exposed stone portions.
There are not 1, but 2, external dining areas that have been designated as alfresco dining spaces for guests outside, fitted with outdoor lounge sofas and one of which is equipped with a built-in BBQ. They overlook the fenced-up swimming pool on the green lawn that measures 12m X 6m and is lined with a row of deck chairs for guests to sunbathe or nap. In turn, the pool overlooks the breathtaking landscape and rolling hills across and beyond.
Inside the home, guests will feel the vibes of a traditional farmhouse throughout with exposed stone wall panelling, wooden ceiling beams and a host of eclectic furniture and knick-knacks that lend a certain countryside authenticity to it. While the living hall is furnished with a mix of colored sofas and plush cushions, the dining room features a wooden dining table with chairs set with white tablecloth across, matched by the white and mahogany shades picked for the fully-equipped kitchen space complete with modern amenities.
Guests can have the privilege of tasting home-cooked meals prepared by the owner who is an excellent cook himself and stays just at the rear of the property, a personal touch of service that is subject to an additional fee on top of their stay rental. Pets are allowed at this villa, mosquito netting is installed at all windows, and guests have WiFi Internet access and flat-screen television to watch as their other sources of entertainment.
Despite its rural-like setting, the villa has close proximity to Lucca in which the main city is only about 13km away. Its closest town is San Martino In Freddana of about 3km while it is also conveniently located near shops with about 6km in distance. For public transportation, the Lucca Stazione railway station is available with their trains at about 15km out.
