Nestled in the most sought-after area of Sri Lanka’s bustling capital, Ishq Colombo provides its guests with a luxurious vacation experience. Drawing inspirations from traditional Sri Lankan architecture and Middle Eastern decor, this four bedroom Colombo villa houses many lounge areas, indoors and outdoors. The open side nature of most rooms allows the breeze to flow through easily. Combined with an array of trees, plants and other vegetation, it provides a green sanctuary in the middle of the bustling city.
Located in Sri Lanka’s capital, there are many attractions that you can visit. All journeys can be done on foot, by car, or even better, tuk-tuks. Places like Viharamahadevi Park is a great starting point to visit a lot of interesting historical places. Alternatively, the many sports stadiums around the city also provide great entertainment.
Ishq Colombo houses four bedrooms and suites in total, accommodating eight people. Two of these are guest bedrooms, furnished with king beds, air conditioners, wardrobes, flat screen TVs, relaxation spaces and work desks. The colour schemes of the decor go perfectly with the type of wood that each room highlights. The other two are guest suites, with similar furnishings, with an additional living room attached to each one. All rooms have either ensuites, or located close to guest bathrooms.
Ishq Colombo features two main outdoor areas. On one side of the main veranda is the 9-metre swimming pool, which can also be accessed from the villa’s main dining area. The pool is bordered by a tall vertical garden. On the other side of the veranda is the large courtyard, accessible from some of the rooms and suites. In addition to the well-manicured lawn, the courtyard also houses a number of exotic trees and vegetation, as well as a charming lily pond. There is a small wooden swing near the stairs leading to the upstairs open terrace of one of the suites.
The holiday house features many common areas, most of which are open sided, giving you a nice fuzzy feeling as the breeze flows in. The formal dining area features a beautiful long dining table that seats 12. Its walls are painted a gorgeous orange-brown colour that highlights the dining table and the wooden carving decorations around the grand room. There are two living rooms in Ishq Colombo. One is upstairs, decked in wood from floor to ceiling, save for two structural walls. When the sunlight hits, it is a sight to behold. The other living room is just as pretty, with middle-eastern inspired decor and small plants to add a pop of refreshing green. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances and is available to be used by guests.
Your stay at Ishq Colombo will be a memorable one, thanks to its team of dedicated staff, including housekeepers, villa manager, pool maintenance person, gardener, and security personnel. Every morning, meals are served in the open side breakfast area, and is included in your stay package. You can request international dishes from the in-house team. There is a library available for use in the villa, where you can grab a book and read in the reading area or in one of the many roofed or open air sitting areas.
Located right in the country’s capital, Ishq Colombo is close to many attractions in the area. It takes no longer than 15 minutes by car to reach destinations like The Dutch Hospital and Pettah Street Markets. The beaches nearby aren’t very swimmable as the waves are rather rough, but you can still enjoy a nice sunset walk on the sand, or enjoy lunch or dinner in one of the beachside restaurants. If you do want to swim or sunbathe at a beach, Mount Lavinia Beach is around 22 minutes away by car. Alternatively, you can visit Beira Lake, home to the Gangaramaya Temple.
