Kalik House is a two-bedroom Japanese-style home in the heart of Nozawaonsen. It features Tatami bedrooms and living area that will provide you with the traditional experience you always wished for. Everything in the village is within walking distance including the ski lifts, restaurants, shops and natural hot springs. The house has been designed with modern comforts as well so you don’t entirely feel out of place. From minimal interiors to windows that allow ample views of the scenery, Kalik House is idyllic. Also, Nagano Prefecture has many sights including temples and shrines that you can visit as well.
Kalik House boasts of two tatami bedrooms designed similar to the rest of the house with a focus on Japanese culture and practices. The bedrooms are spacious and donned with tatami mats. Once its night-time, futons are provided so you can enjoy a restful sleep on your comfortable bed. There is even a happy addition to the room which is the amazing kotatsu, a table covered by a futon or blanket with a heat source hidden away in the centre ideally suited for winter months. For your convenience, there is a shower room and a bathroom with shower in the house.
The outdoors at Kalik House is mainly all of Nozawaonsen as it lies right at your doorstep. You can venture out to the snow-capped mountains and ski to your heart’s content or alternatively, you can find the nearest café Fortissimo which is merely 4 minutes by foot . The snow-laden surroundings are simply breath-taking and with the steam from the natural hot springs, you definitely deserve a pat on your back for choosing an excellent vacation option.
At Kalik House, the living area can be converted into another tatami room with tatami mats covering the floor for added warmth. There is a comfortable and plush low-floor couch with a wooden coffee table that is great for enjoying a lazy day indoors. The flat-screen TV is where the modern world intervenes to give you some of the comforts of home here in the middle of Japan. The room is heated and cosy, there are shoji screens covering the large windows that allow in ample sunlight to naturally warm the room as well.
The dining area and fully-equipped kitchen are what make this house a home for many guests. You can enjoy proper meals by sitting around the dinner table, relishing home-cooked food and catching up on stories with your friends and family. The kitchen is well-designed and properly equipped with amenities and appliances including dishware, rice cooker, coffee machine, and useful ingredients to get you started. The warm ambiance will help you relax and feel as if you’re right at home.
You are in for a wonderful time at Kalik House as it is perfectly suited for families with children or even a group of friends. They have amenities such as a fully-equipped kitchen and once you get the groceries, you can really cook up a storm. A washer and dryer also let you have clean clothes handy and detergent is provided. Parking facility is available near Shinden Bus Stop.
Natural hot springs, mountains, traditional buildings and houses, ski lifts, etc. complete the picturesque village of Nozawaonsen. A gem of a place in Nagano Prefecture, you gave so many options to choose from in order to spend your days wisely. There are even temples like Zenko-ji temple in Nagano or shrines that you can visit.
